7.16~19.10 - Vermont Mountain Bike Festival
If you didn't get a chance to meet us at the Raystown Lake DirtFest, you can meet us in VT this weekend. July the 16th, 17th and 18th we will be attending the Vermont Mountain Bike Festival hosted by the VMBA (Vermont Mountain Bike Association). There are many group rides scheduled and the list of vendors and attendees is staggering. This volunteer group has been busting their humps to get it all together, and it promises to be one of those weekends you will be telling stories about for years to come.
Additionally, EWR's own Jay de Jesus will be leading a skills clinic. Want to ride with a legend? Sign up, These rides never cover a lot of miles, but you always walk away with something that you will hold onto forever.
8.1.10 - Bear Creek Challenge
On August 1st, 2010, The Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA, will be holding the Bear Creek Challenge, a Kenda Cup Qualifier. It's not often we get a race of this caliber so close to home, and it is guaranteed to be a great turnout of hi-caliber athletes - Amateur and Pro. Additionally, the Resort is absolutely beautiful, and is a great place to spend the night (or a weekend). There are always activities for every age group too - so bring the kids!
Hope to see you soon!
OLDER POST:
Welcome to a new season, a new year. Actually, welcome to a new decade. In November of 2007, I met with Kenn, pretty much one year to the day that I was stricken with a life threatening bout of bacterial menegitis. Ten years previous, I had shut things down with some unfinished business and people still wanting frames. Right there, he (with Don’s influence) persuaded me to get back into the bike biz. Fast forward to today – cold, snowy, all clean and white slate outside on which to ride. Lots of optimism and momentum going forward. Snow riding is so much fun, and here in the northeast we are blessed with great conditions right now. There is a visual purity to it all, and it seems to signify change and new beginnings.
New to this season, we are releasing a brand new titanium racing frame, the EWR E-Motion29 Ti. It is actually a re-birth of the original EWR E-Motion race frame, which has NORBA National Championship winning pedigree (thanks Endurance Karl!). The next-generation E-Motion29 Ti is a direct result of our Elite race-teams’ influence. This time ‘round it’s got bigger wheels, bigger lighter frame tubes and it comes in this snazzy, shinier titanium color. A perfect platform with which to launch your racing aspirations, the EWR E-Motion29 Ti is all about racing. Racing is the business and business it good! We will be releasing production photos and a peak at the new E-Motion29 Ti logo shortly. Stay tuned!
For 2010, our Mid-Atlantic Super Series championship chasing team is back with a new look. Last season was phenomenal – EWR Racing earned 2nd overall in the M.A.S.S. and Craig Lander won the Endurance Master Men overall series championship. For this season we are updating our team structure, our team jersey and team presence. There are some great events out there, including the Mid-Atlantic Super Series as well as the Trans-sylvania Mountain Bike Epic. We will spread out wings a little more this season, and we’ll formally present our team, jerseys and schedule very soon.
Winter-time is a beautiful time to get outside. Forget the trainer; winter is all about snow riding here in the northeast. It is also about logging big base miles and having fun with friends, like surprise pit-stops half-way into 5 hour rides with six packs of Victory Hop Devil, sushi, smoked salmon pinwheels, Mediterranean olives, cheese and M&Ms all stashed in the woods at the top of the climb. ‘Cuz hey, if you’re gonna be out there all day, would you rather eat a frozen Clif Bar or this spread?! Make all of your rides spectacular…
